1. You pack your own goods with packaging materials of your own (refer to our "Packing tips" page). Please be aware of types of goods that are not permitted without prior written authorisation. These are listed at the bottom of this page.
2. Ensure that all the items within the property are dismantled, packed and sufficiently protected prior to collection.
3. Complete a detailed inventory (available to download). This document serves a number of purposes - not only is it for our and your reference but it is required by customs.
4. On the day of arrival sufficient manpower must have been organised in advance to load and unload the vehicle. One person on their own is not enough and the driver is neither insured nor paid to assist. If your loading tim exceeds your allocation, standing time will be charged by the hour.
5. Easy access to both properties is to be made available. It always makes good sense to inform neighbours and officials in advance to avoid blocked streets or access points. The further you have to walk with your goods the longer it takes and the more it costs. Imagine you have a very large vehicle like a double decker bus arriving.
6. Make the office aware of any possible problems and ensure plenty of contact numbers are made available. We may need to get in touch at short notice.
Don't Leave Anything To The Last Minute - It May Become An Expensive Delay
Important Notes: It is your responsibility to ensure that all items are personal possessions only and not goods intended for resale. Customs officials take a dim view of this and you will have to bear the cost of any charges imposed.
The following classified goods are not permitted unless previously advised in writing prior to any movement:-
1. Explosives
2. Gases Compressed, Liquefied or Dissolved under pressure
3. Flammable Liquids
4. Flammable Solids
5. Oxidising Substances and Organic Peroxides
6. Toxic and Infectious Substances
7. Radioactive Material
8. Corrosives
9. Miscellaneous dangerous goods, which present a danger not covered elsewhere
The following goods are strictly prohibited from our service:-
1. Arms & Ammunition
2. Counterfeit material
3. Controlled drugs
4. Obscene material and offensive articles
